A master class is a class given to students of a particular discipline by an expert of that discipline. Jesus taught the original master class on what it means to be fully human when He gave His famous Sermon on the Mount in Matthew chapters 5-7. The message of His sermon wasn’t, “Live like this and you’ll be my disciple,” but rather, “Because you are my disciple, live like this.” It’s not about how we ought to live, but how we were meant to live.
