Respond
The invitations of Jesus in this passage were spoken with a tone of gentleness and care. When He spoke these words in Matthew 11, He had just explained to the crowds that it brought Him joy to reveal the plans of His Father to those who would listen. He was thanking God for the childlike faith of the people willing to follow Him.

We have the same opportunity to follow Him with childlike faith and receive His rest. We get to let Him teach us, and we get to know His humble and gentle heart. This is good news!

Are you weary and in need of rest? Have you taken Jesus at His word and allowed Him to carry your burdens? These gifts are available to you. You have the opportunity to be with Jesus today, even right now. Find a moment today to get quiet before Jesus and thank Him for His tender heart toward you. It brings Him joy to give you rest for your soul.
