The author of 1 Peter wrote a letter to a group of scattered Christ-followers who were located all over Asia Minor – a letter with a message that applies to us today. He let them know the disorienting feeling they had as Christians was real and justified. They had become foreigners in this world, primarily because of their association and devotion to Jesus. As a result, their entire lives were uncertain and their support systems had been decimated. If you are battling discouragement, this is ultimately a letter of hope and reminder of where to keep your focus.
