This too shall pass.

Series: Hold On To Hope | Week 1: Hold On To Hope

1 Peter 5:10
“In His kindness God called you to share in His eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, He will restore, support, and strengthen you, and He will place you on a firm foundation.”

2 Corinthians 1:10
“And He did rescue us from mortal danger, and He will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in Him, and He will continue to rescue us.”

Problems, trials, and suffering are all a part of life. But, as followers of Jesus, we can live with the promise that God, in His kindness, will use these things to strengthen us and produce fruit. Because of Jesus, we have an eternal glory that brings us hope for tomorrow and peace for today.

Respond in Prayer
• Spend some time thanking God today for the promises in these verses. Instead of just asking Him to remove your suffering, ask for His work to be accomplished in you as you walk through them. Thank Him for the ways He has rescued you in the past and place your confidence in Him alone to continue to rescue you.

For Families with Kids at Home
• As you spend time with your kids today, ask the Holy Spirit to support and strengthen you to love them and care for them well. Ask God to give you His perspective of your kids, and as you parent and navigate all of your other responsibilities, ask that He would help you see your kids grow in ways you haven’t before.
