The gift of peace.

Series: Waymaker | Week 3: Light in the Darkness

John 20:19
“That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! ‘Peace be with you,’ He said.”

Just as things had changed so suddenly for the disciples on that first Easter, Jesus appeared to their small gathering suddenly. Despite the locked doors, Jesus is in their midst. And look what He offers them. The resurrected Jesus, who has just conquered death, offers them peace. His light shone the brightest when the disciples were in their darkest moment.

Respond in Prayer
Jesus offered peace to the disciples and He offers it to you, too. Because of His shed blood and victory over death, you can have peace with God, peace with others, and peace with yourself. God wants to get into your heart! If you’ve never done so, accept Him into your heart now and receive His peace. If you are a follower of Jesus, ask for His peace in areas of your life that you don’t have it right now.

For Families with Kids at Home
When chaos ensues and your time at home feels anything like peace, remember this: God is here to give you peace in your family, too. Take some time today to pray and ask God to give you the kind of peace that only comes from Him as you love and lead your family.
