Series: Waymaker | Week 3: Light in the Darkness

Isaiah 35:10
“Those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return. They will enter [Zion] singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be filled with joy and gladness.”

The resurrection of Jesus means that death and disease have been defeated! This prophecy from the book of Isaiah promises that one day, in Heaven, there will be no more mourning or crying, no more suffering or sorrow or disease. Because Jesus wore a crown of thorns as He hung on the cross, those who believe in Him are crowned in everlasting joy.

Respond in Prayer
Do you have the hope of Heaven today? If you have questions about what it means to give your life to Jesus, we’d love to come alongside you. Reach out to us here and a member of our staff team will follow up with you this week. If you consider yourself a follower of Jesus already, are you living in the hope His resurrection offers you? Offer up to Him whatever it is that’s holding you back from living in full freedom, joy and gladness.

For Families with Kids at Home
If you’re able to, spend some time outside as a family today. Try to limit your time on screens (maybe even try a “screen-free Saturday”). When you find yourself full of fear, despair, or sadness, thank Jesus for what He’s done, and ask Him to lead you and your family to look more like Him
