Respond
“Good news travels fast.” This phrase takes on a whole new meaning in the context of today’s Scripture. Jesus wasn’t sharing ordinary good news. He was announcing the Good News of the gospel. His goodness encompassed ministering to people’s hearts with the truth, but also ministering to their physical needs by healing them.

In order to minister to people, Jesus sacrificed comfort by traveling far from home, anonymity by speaking boldly, and safety by touching those who were sick. All of these sacrifices were made because He knew that the power within Him was greater than the spirit who lives in the world (1 John 4:4). We have access to that same power, which means we can follow Jesus’ example of displaying goodness without fear.

When is the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone to share the Good News or to bring healing to someone? Take a few minutes now to thank Jesus for His goodness, and ask Him to help you boldly minister to those in need.
