Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.

Series: Let's Talk About It | Week 2: Addiction

Read 1 John 2:17

“And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.”

1. What final thing does John tell us about the world and its cravings?
2. What does he say stands in direct opposition to the fading world?
3. How can you know and do what pleases God?

The only thing that can break the bond you have with an addiction is realizing there is something so much greater – a God who has promised an unbreakable bond to you. As you take the things that have possibly begun to have mastery over you to God, ask Him to help you see them through His eyes. Sing the words of the old hymn, Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, and ask God to make the things of earth grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.

For Families with Kids at Home
One of the most powerful ways we can show our kids that following Jesus is better than anything is by modeling it for them. Are you modeling a life that displays that Jesus is better, bigger, and more satisfying than any other earthly pleasure or possession?
