Human beings are sinful by nature and our sin separates us from God. We sense that separation often as an emptiness, a longing, or a brokenness. What does the world offer you to try and fill that space? Spend some time with God now asking Him to show you the places where you have believed the lie that something besides God will fill it. Ask for His discernment to hear those lies, and tell Him that you want your love for Him to outpace your love for those things the world offers you.

Instead of feeling shame over it, spend some time with God today asking him to guide you as you model for your kids what it’s like to trust that only God can fulfill you, and ask him to help you establish healthy boundaries for you and your kids.
