Read Lamentations 3:2-5
“He has led me into darkness, shutting out all light. He has turned His hand against me again and again, all day long. He has made my skin and flesh grow old. He has broken my bones. He has besieged and surrounded me with anguish and distress.”

1. What are Jeremiah’s physical responses to his anxiety in this passage?
2. How does Jeremiah describe his current situation?
3. How does Jeremiah view God’s role in the midst of his struggle?
Respond
Jeremiah writes in an honest way that conveys his deep emotions toward God. Jeremiah feels alone in his struggle and his feelings are becoming his reality. Take some time now to identify the ways anxiety or fear shows up in your life, physically and emotionally, and ask God to replace your feelings with truth about who He is.
