"Test me in this."

Series: modgniK | Week 4: Generosity Flows

Malachi 3:8-10
“Should people cheat God? Yet you have cheated me!
“But you ask, ‘What do you mean? When did we ever cheat you?’
“You have cheated me of the tithes and offerings due to me.  You are under a curse, for your whole nation has been cheating me. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!

When you honor God with the first part of your earnings, you invite Him into your financial life. He will engage Himself supernaturally in your financial affairs. When we don’t, God says, ‘you’re cheating me’…of the chance to be involved with you in your finances, to reassure you that you’re not alone, of proving that I care for you, to fill you up with peace and contentment, and the opportunity to touch someone else’s life through your generosity.

This is the only place in the Bible where God challenges us to put Him to the test! Generosity doesn’t happen until we make it a priority. Aaron challenged us to start tithing for the next three months and see how God engages Himself supernaturally in our finances, how He'll impact others because of your generosity and fill you with peace and contentment. Traders Point has prayerfully discerned four vision lanes that we feel God calling us to get behind in a big way – campuses in our city, vulnerable children, new churches, and leadership development. Does your heart beat for any of these lanes in particular? The church will move at the speed of our generosity. You are loved lavishly by your Heavenly Father – trust Him with this.
