Most people don’t love a long list of rules. Yet in 1 Corinthians 7, Paul gets very specific with guardrails for both single and married people. Ultimately these guardrails point to who and what we idolize. Do we idolize feeling happy at the expense of our God-given purpose, or do we seek God first?

If you were to answer these questions for yourself, where would you land? When you jump from one relationship to another, you risk never knowing who you really are. This is true if you’re fantasizing or thinking about a relationship outside of marriage too.

Confess anything that needs to be made right, and if there’s a relationship that needs to be recentered under a covenant relationship with Jesus, begin the process today.
