Matthew 22:37-40
Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
It’s possible to acquire lots of Bible knowledge and be unhitched from producing fruit in your life and loving people well. Bible knowledge without love is self-righteousness.
The entire law in the Bible can be summed up in these two commands: love God and love others.
If you want to grow deeper with God, get on mission with Jesus. Do more than just go to Bible studies, read books, or listen to podcasts. Apply what you’re learning about God by loving people who are far from God. Your personal growth should always be for the sake of others and the cause of Christ.
Today, ask God to help you love him with your whole heart and to show you what that looks like in your life. Ask him to reveal specific ways you can show his love to people around you.
