Discover
1. What separation did God create on day three (verses 9-10)?
2. What did it set the stage for Him to create next?
3. How did God design vegetation to reproduce? What does it contain?

Respond
On day three of creation, we see God further setting the stage for man to arrive on the scene. He gathered the waters to reveal land, and then He created seed-bearing vegetation for man’s enjoyment and sustenance. Just as He called forth seed-bearing fruit in creation, He does the same in us. He calls us to stay connected to Him and allow Him to produce the fruits of the Spirit in us—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

Where in your life have you struggled to produce this kind of fruit? What can you do to stay more connected to Jesus and allow Him to produce it in you? Are there any seeds that He’s calling you to plant in someone else’s life—perhaps sharing how He has changed your life or speaking words of encouragement? Spend time in your Creator God’s presence now, connecting with Him and asking Him to produce the kind of fruit in you that will plant seeds for His kingdom.
