Reflect
It’s easy to look at world events and wonder if they’re signs of the “end of the world,” similar to what Jesus’ disciples asked. Jesus’ response to them confirmed that there will be chaos, wars, famines, and earthquakes as a precursor to His final coming, similar to a woman about to give birth. But rather than focusing on when He’ll return, Jesus wanted them to focus on how they’re living right now.
We don’t know when Christ will return, but we do know that tragedies will continue to happen until that day. When wars and chaos strike, we don’t need to be alarmed; we need to be awakened – awakened to a love that burns for Jesus, a life of endurance, and a passion to share the Good News about the Kingdom so the whole world will know.
Do you ever find yourself wondering when Jesus will return? Does it dominate your thoughts to a point that you’re not focused on how Jesus wants you to live right now? What do you need to be awakened to – a love that burns for Jesus, a life of endurance, a passion to share the Good News, or something else? What steps is God asking you to take in this area?
