Because you say so.

Series: The Gospel of Luke: Settled in Spirit | Week 4: It's What We Do

Read Luke 5:4-7

Discover
1. List all the reasons why Jesus’s instructions to Simon Peter don’t make sense.
2. What reason does Simon give for doing what Jesus tells him to do (remember what Simon has just witnessed that might help his trust)?
3. What details does Luke give us to describe just how big the haul of fish is?

Respond
1. Do you sometimes feel like Jesus is asking you to do something that makes no sense based upon your education or your experience? How can thinking back on all the times you’ve seen God’s faithfulness in the past help you move forward in obedience?
2. Even if you feel exhausted, worn down or like you’ve got nothing left in the tank, come into the presence of God now and simply tell Him, ‘if you say so, I’ll do it, Lord.’ Even flimsy faith is enough if it’s faith in Jesus.
