Day Five Matthew 7:28-29
28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 for he taught with real authority—quite unlike their teachers of religious law. – Matthew 7:28-29 (NLT)
Learn From the Word
Jesus has finished His famous sermon describing what it looks like to live as a disciple in the Kingdom of God, and the people are left amazed at His teaching. When God’s Word is taught, it holds power and authority. It sets itself apart from the wisdom of man and points us to the true object of our worship.
Put It Into Practice
If time in God’s Word leaves you unamazed by Him, pray for fresh eyes, ears, and heart. Invite the Holy Spirit into your time and ask Him to speak. If your time hearing God’s Word being taught leaves you amazed at anyone other than Him, ask His forgiveness and to redirect you to the only One worthy of your awe. If looking carefully into God’s Word is an area of struggle for you, reach out to your campus pastor or Groups staff member. They would love to help you grow in this area.
