Ascent 121 offers long-term trauma recovery services for Indiana’s teen survivors of trafficking. Survivors of commercial sexual exploitation present with unique needs for clinical support where continuity is vital. Each year Ascent 121 provides clinical recovery services for over one hundred central Indiana teens. They also host awareness and professional development training for thousands of people in the community.
Brookside Community Development Corporation takes a holistic, Gospel-centered approach to meet the needs of neighborhood residents living on the near East side of Indianapolis. They work toward renewal, one life at a time, through three initiatives: serving the high number of individuals that reenter society from incarceration, addiction, and homelessness; developing youth through play; and providing dignity, stability, and accountability to individuals and families that struggle with inconsistent and unreliable housing.
Hands of Hope is a faith-based organization that believes in the power of love to change lives. They educate on God’s heart for orphans and vulnerable children, motivate individuals to get involved, and support those who do. They believe that they can change the future one child at a time.
Life Centers provides a network of care to those experiencing pregnancy-related decisions and by compassionately sharing the hope found in Jesus Christ with expectant mothers. Their six pregnancy centers provide free, confidential services including pregnancy tests, ultrasound exams, one-on-one peer counseling, and post-abortive support. They also meet the material needs of expectant mothers by providing maternity and baby clothing, diapers, bottles and other baby items.
Str8Up Ministries is a Christian-based Youth Club with a relational focus. They are easily accessible, attracting and providing Indianapolis youth with life skills training, academic tutoring, and leadership development skills.
Shepherd Community Center works to build assets into people’s lives so they can break the bonds of generational poverty. They fight systemic causes of poverty and serve with lifelong relationship-based care. They have numerous volunteer opportunities revolving around food security, mentoring, education, and advocacy.
Wheeler Mission is the oldest operating ministry providing Christ-centered programs and services for those experiencing homelessness, hunger, and addiction in the state of Indiana. Their vision is to see every man, woman, and child they serve equipped to be productive citizens who enjoy lasting success in Christ.
91 Place is a home for homeless youth on the near east side of Indianapolis with community, relationships, and a familial environment at its core. Residents are adolescents transitioning to adulthood, ages 17-22, and are able to stay for up to two years. This gives them the opportunity to further their education, obtain a job, save money, and create healthy relationships
Sheltering Wings extends the love and compassion of Christ to survivors of domestic abuse. They provide emergency housing for survivors escaping domestic abuse, helping build stable and independent lives through essential programs offered in a supportive and Christ-centered environment.
The Cooper House exists to foster hope for families in their time of crisis while helping them discover the love and hope of Jesus Christ. Almost half of foster children are on track to be reunified with their parents. The Cooper House's goal is to provide support and encouragement to these families so that ultimately they can be together again in a thriving home.
