Series: Anxious Christmas | Week 2: You Are Not Forgotten

Read Isaiah 9:6-7

Discover
1. What does Isaiah tell us about the child who will be born?
2. What does it mean that the government will rest on His shoulders?
3. How hard would it have been to connect a child to such lofty prophecies?

Respond
It’s easy to read these verses having become overly familiarized with them. Take some time to pause and give thought to each name given for Jesus. How does each one restore your wonder and awe of this God who ushered in an upside-down kingdom? A mighty Warrior of heaven’s armies who is also our Prince of Peace. A God who is both Son and Father. A Ruler who is fair and just yet full of passion. Confess to God the times you make Him small or even become bored with Him. Pray for your awe and wonder of Him to be restored.
