What Are Your Thorns?

Series: Dirt | Week 3: Half-Hearted

Day One Luke 8:7 and Luke 8:14

7 ”Other seed fell among thorns that grew up with it and choked out the tender plants… 14 The seeds that fell among the thorns represent those who hear the message, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life. And so they never grow into maturity.” Luke 8:7, 14 (NLT)

1. What does Jesus say the thorns represent?
2. What thorns do you think you have in your own life?
3. What contributes to those thorns?

Take a moment and ask God to reveal to you current thorns in your life and potential thorns that could be forming, whether they are related to the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth, the pleasures of life, or something else. Reflect on those thorns. Share with one or two people who can regularly pour into you.
