The Lion of Judah.

Series: Resilient | Week 5: Put It All on the Line

Revelation 5:5
“But one of the twenty-four elders said to me, ‘Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne, has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals.’”

From the first book of the Bible to the last – Judah’s name pops up again. The book of Revelation describes Jesus as the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Jesus is a descendant of Judah, not Joseph! The love and sacrifice Judah offers for Benjamin is just a glimpse of the love and sacrifice Jesus offers us.

Respond in Prayer
Take some time to worship Jesus now for who He is. He died as our substitute, bore the weight of the sins of the world on Himself, had victory over death, enabling Him to one day return and have the ultimate victory. He did it because He loves His Father who couldn’t bear the anguish of being separated from us, His sons and daughters. Respond to that kind of love in worship!

For Families with Kids at Home
Today as you pray with your family—around the dinner table, before bedtime, or on a walk, praise Jesus for who he is and what he’s done for your family. Be specific!
