Tears of reconciliation.

Series: Resilient | Week 6: On the Other Side

Genesis 45:1-3
“Joseph could stand it no longer. There were many people in the room, and he said to his attendants, ‘Out, all of you!’ So he was alone with his brothers when he told them who he was. Then he broke down and wept. He wept so loudly the Egyptians could hear him, and word of it quickly carried to Pharaoh’s palace. . But his brothers were speechless! They were stunned to realize that Joseph was standing there in front of them.”

The test is over. Joseph’s brothers have passed the testing of their hearts and motives with flying colors. God has changed them and watching it all unfold is almost more than Joseph can bear. The last 22 years of Joseph’s life have been a pressure cooker for growth and the tears of reconciliation can now flow on the other side.

Respond in Prayer
How do you tend to respond in the midst of tough circumstances? Take some time to consider this idea of walking through difficulty rather than over, around or under it using these verses. Thank God for never abandoning you through trials. Ask Him to keep you strong in the midst of them until you emerge on the other side.

For Families with Kids at Home
Your kids are actively learning how to grow in the midst of adversity, especially right now. Today, spend some time asking God to mold and shape their character—that as they go through hardship, they would grow stronger through it.
