Series: Let's Talk About It | Week 5: Doubt
Read John 14:16-17, 26“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth… But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.”Discover1. List out all the things Jesus says about the Holy Spirit in these verses.2. How does the Holy Spirit advocate for followers of Jesus?3. What do the superlative words (i.e., never, all) in these verses teach us?RespondThe Holy Spirit lives inside every person who has placed his or her faith in Christ. He plays many roles but one of those roles is to lead us into all truth! Are you stifling the Holy Spirit by allowing your doubts to lead you to things like justifying sin, pulling away from community and church, or prayerlessness? If you find yourself walking down this path, ask God to help you let the Spirit breathe by turning to things like God’s Word, prayer, and other believers when doubts arise.
