Read Psalm 73
“Did I keep my heart pure for nothing? Did I keep myself innocent for no reason? I get nothing but trouble all day long; every morning brings me pain… So I tried to understand why the wicked prosper. But what a difficult task it is! Then I went into your sanctuary, O God, and I finally understood…” (Psalm 73:13-14, 16-17)

Respond
The psalmist was experiencing doubt for many of the same reasons we do – wicked people prospering and pain all around us. In those moments of trying to understand, we can choose one of two paths: the path of the world’s wisdom, which leads to more darkness, or the path of humility that seeks God in His sanctuary. What does it look like practically for you to enter God’s sanctuary? Pray about this, and then go to the sanctuary regularly to gain perspective and understanding.
