The ultimate example of faithfulness is Jesus on the cross, following His Father’s will and taking on the sin of the world. In Hebrews 12, He’s placed before us as our inspiration. While the world seeks to weigh us down and trip us up, we can endure by staying focused on Jesus.

These verses remind us that following Jesus isn’t always easy. We’ll face challenges, we’ll get weary, and we’ll be tempted by the lure of sin. But we can endure. When we keep our eyes on Jesus, we’re taking our attention off of ourselves, our circumstances, and the distractions around us. Our focus is the key to our faithfulness.

Where would you say your focus is right now when it comes to running the race? Is it on yourself, your circumstances, or other distractions? What needs to change so you are solely focused on Jesus? Spend some time in quiet now, thanking Him for modeling faithfulness. Turn over anything that’s weighing you down or distracting you, and commit to keeping your eyes on Him.
