Delighting in Love.

Series: Rally Cry | Week 2: Marriage: Harder Than You Think, Better Than You Thought!

Read Song of Songs 2:2-5

“Like a lily among thistles is my darling among young women. Like the finest apple tree in the orchard is my lover among other young men. I sit in his delightful shade and taste his delicious fruit. He escorts me to the banquet hall; it’s obvious how much he loves me. Strengthen me with raisin cakes, refresh me with apples, for I am weak with love.”

Respond
Marriage between a man and a woman often starts off just as these verses describe, because we always present the best version of ourselves in the beginning. But after a while, it’s impossible to hide, pretend, or cover up flaws. If you’re married, take some time now and ask God to allow these moments when the masks come off to produce greater intimacy between you and your spouse, rather than greater distance. Married or not, thank God for His perfect love and for being someone who utterly delights in you.
