21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

From February 1–22, we’re inviting you to join us as a church family for a focused season of prayer and fasting. Together, we’ll set aside intentional time to seek God and release the strongholds that may be holding us back—creating space to draw closer to Him and deepen our connection with one another. Our prayer is that this season strengthens your dependence on God, brings healing to the hurting, reaches those far from Him in our city, and helps us take ground for the Kingdom across Indianapolis and beyond.

Ready to join us? Commit to 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting in the app, pray about what God is inviting you to fast from, grab your guidebook at church on January 24 or 25, and prepare a physical or digital journal to capture what God does during these 21 days.

“Fasting is a denial of the flesh. It’s telling the desires of your flesh who is King. These desires aren’t necessarily sinful, but they become sinful when they become ultimate or disordered.”

FAQ

Guidebooks will be available during the gatherings on January 24 & 25 at all of our locations. If you're in a small group, check with your small group leader before grabbing a guidebook.

The short answer is yes. In fasting, we surrender a habit for a period of time to connect and pray with God. For some, this might be social media or other forms of entertainment. However, we see in Scripture that the habit believers abstained from while fasting is eating.

If you’re able to, we recommend fasting from a meal (consider lunch) and replacing that time with prayer. If you’re new to fasting, start small or consider something else. If it’s medically unsafe for you, see the next FAQ.

We do not recommend fasting from food if it is medically unsafe or unwise for you to do so. There are a number of reasons why this may be the case. If it is unsafe or unwise for you, please choose something other than food to abstain from.

For those who have recovered from an eating disorder or actively have a disordered relationship with food, we encourage you not to fast from food and to consult your medical provider.

If you’d like to speak with a pastor, please reach out to them through our Contact Us form.

Yes, please drink water! Everyone will have their own convictions regarding other drinks.

No. We recommend planning your time with God. Set a time and place that works for you to meditate on His word, write down reflective thoughts, and pray. For some, this may be first thing in the morning, while others’ schedules provide midday or evening as better times. The aim is consistency and connection.
