In everything Paul wrote, he pointed to Jesus. Why? Because Jesus came and met us at our worst. He rescued, ransomed, restored, and redeemed us when we were broken, giving us a hope and a future.
When our problems seem big and God seems small, we can flip the script through worship. Our circumstances may not be praiseworthy, but God always is. Worship isn’t what we do when everything goes our way. It’s what we do to cultivate joy, see God’s point of view, refocus our focus, and source our joy in something that lasts.
When the rest of the world is raging, complaining, critical, and tearing down, we can be rejoicing, grateful, compassionate, and building up. When the rest of the world is fixated on happiness, we can be focused on joy. When the rest of the world is scrambling for identity, we can be secure in Christ. This world needs more Christians to be joyful. Let it start with us.
• Worship in everything. How have you seen God move or reveal His character in your life recently? Worship Him right now, and then tell someone else today about what He’s done.
