Day Two Romans 5:6-8
Pray: Invite God into your time and ask Him to speak to you, then read the passage.
6 When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. 7 Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. – Romans 5:6-8 (NLT)

For Families with Kids at Home:
Paul uses the words “utterly helpless” in describing our situation before Jesus. Ask your kids about a baby - can they feed themselves? Get dressed by themselves? No, babies are totally helpless! They need someone else to come along and take care of them and help them. Explain that in the same way, that we were helpless too before Jesus came along. There was no way that we could ever be friends with God, and no way we could ever get ourselves to Heaven on our own. But, God took care of us by sending Jesus to make a way to Him, and He’s given the Holy Spirit to us to comfort us when things are hard! Take time to pray with your kids today and thank God for caring for us when we were helpless.
