The Wonder of His Determination.

Series: Easter with Traders Point | Week 1: Holy Week

Day Two Read John 13:18-30

*This week we’re looking at Jesus’ last days on earth, as told in the book of John. As we reflect, use the power of your imagination to enter in to these stories this Holy Week. Allow yourself to experience the wonder of Jesus again.*

“Now Jesus was deeply troubled, and he exclaimed, ‘I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me!’ The disciples looked at each other, wondering whom he could mean. The disciple Jesus loved was sitting next to Jesus at the table. Simon Peter motioned to him to ask, ‘Who’s he talking about?’ So that disciple leaned over to Jesus and asked, ‘Lord, who is it?’ Jesus responded, ‘It is the one to whom I give the bread I dip in the bowl.’ And when he had dipped it, he gave it to Judas, son of Simon Iscariot. When Judas had eaten the bread, Satan entered into him. Then Jesus told him, ‘Hurry and do what you’re going to do.’ None of the others at the table knew what Jesus meant.” John 13:21-28 (NLT)

Respond
Take some time right now to thank Jesus for willingly moving forward with a plan that deeply troubled Him. Thank Him that He did it for you. Allow your heart to fill with wonder over such a great love. Pray for yourself or anyone in your life who might, like Judas, know all about Jesus but still haven’t humbly admitted their need for Him and chosen to put their faith Him. Pray for the Holy Spirit to give them a heart of wonder for the true Jesus.
