The whisper of better options.

Series: FOBO (Fear Of Better Options) | Week 2: How Do I Find The One?

Proverbs 7:10-15

“The woman approached him, seductively dressed and sly of heart. She was the brash, rebellious type, never content to stay at home. She is often in the streets and markets,  soliciting at every corner. She threw her arms around him and kissed him, and with a brazen look she said, ‘I’ve just made my peace offerings and fulfilled my vows. You’re the one I was looking for! I came out to find you, and here you are!’”

The adulterous woman gives the young man an amazing pick-up line, essentially saying she’d been praying for someone like him and now look, here he is! She’s offering him something that sounds so enticing, to the point of even making it sound like this is from God. He doesn't have a plan or the accountability to turn away from temptation.

Respond

 1. Are there any situations you’re facing in your life right now that sound like a better option than the path you know God has for you? Pause for a minute to think about these, asking God to reveal any you may not even be aware of.

2. Come up with a plan to set clear boundaries in areas you find yourself wandering. Be intentional about staying on God’s path and share this plan with someone you trust.
