Stronger than ever.

Series: The Gospel of Luke: Settled in Spirit | Week 1: Battle-ready

Luke 4:14-15
“Then Jesus returned to Galilee, filled with the Holy Spirit’s power. Reports about Him spread quickly through the whole region. He taught regularly in their synagogues and was praised by everyone.”

Discover
1. After experiencing victory over temptation, what is Jesus now full of?
2. What does He immediately begin doing upon return from His 40-day quarantine? How is He received?
3. How has God used something the devil intended for harm, for good?

Respond
1. What temptations get triggered in you during times of trial or weakness? Take a few minutes to be honest with God about these now. Ask Him to give you a mindset of overcoming temptation not by trying harder but, instead, out of a great love for Him!
2. Thank Jesus now for going before you. For setting the perfect example. For fighting the battle against temptation and winning so that you could win, too. If you have never trusted your life to Jesus, we’d love to come alongside you. Reach out to us at tpcc.org/jesus and we will follow up with you.

For Families with Kids at Home
Today, talk to your kids about their relationship with Jesus. They might be ready to give their life to Jesus or maybe they already have, and they feel far from him. As you encourage them, allow the Holy Spirit to direct your conversation, so you can help your kids to take the next step in their faith.
