Jesus as savior and Lord.

Series: Asking for a Friend | Week 3: The LGBT Questions

2 Corinthians 5:17-18
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.

If Jesus can be trusted to be your Savior, he can be trusted to be your Lord. He wants what’s best for you.

Chasing after the Lordship of Jesus Christ in our lives should be the path for every Christ follower, regardless of sexual orientation. It’s never a good idea to base our identity upon anything other than Jesus.

John 3:30 reminds us: He must increase, and I must decrease, until it is Christ alone. You may be many things and wear many labels. But they should all be subordinate to your identity in Christ.

When you trust Jesus as your savior and the Lord of your life, you are a new person! Your old life is gone, and a new life has begun. If you have received his free gift, thank him for giving you a new identity in Jesus! Now ask him to show you: Who in your life can you help reconcile to him?
