From Death to Life

Series: At the Movies | Week 2: A Rich Life

Read Ezekiel 36:25-27 in your personal Bible or at the link provided.

Review

  1. What will God do for us?
  2. What will we no longer do?
  3. How will our hearts change?

Reflect

This week we’ve looked at what God offers that the world could never give us, and Ezekiel describes the ultimate transformation: death to life. He was a prophet to Israel during their exile away from the land God had given them, and he instructed them to repent of their sin and trust in God’s promise of redemption. The fulfillment came through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.

Today, He offers everyone the inward transformation that Ezekiel described. When we put our faith in Him, He washes us clean of all our sins and grants us new life. He gives us a new heart that’s tender and responsive to Him, and He fills us with His Spirit. Nothing we chase in this world can compare to His resurrection power.

How would you describe your heart’s current condition? If it’s responsive to God, spend time in thanksgiving for the transformation He has given you. If it’s grown stony and cold towards Him, ask Him to soften it again. What about God’s character do you need to be reminded of today? And who can you share this good news with?

Respond

Pray through these questions, and write down what God is prompting you to do next. Share with a friend, and take a step to apply it.

Remember

During At the Movies, each week we’ll focus on remembering what we read. If you’re new to memorizing Scripture, start by looking at one section of one verse to remember this week.

Read John 10:10 again to remember. If you want to begin by memorizing just part of it, start with this phrase:

“My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
