How childlike is your heart when approaching God and spending time with Him? When our hearts are full of pride and arrogance, we crowd out God’s ability to do any work in us! Envision yourself approaching God today as a child and crawling into His lap. As you sit there, ask Him for a renewed ability to hear from Him and all that He wants to teach you. Confess to Him the times you have rushed about your days, not seeking Him and believing your ways are better.

For Families with Kids at Home
If you have little kids, take a few moments today to observe your kids and how they depend on you as a parent. If your kids are older, think back to a time when they were younger and needed you to do everything for them. God calls all of us to depend on Him in the same way, not to pretend like we can do it all ourselves. Take time to read Matthew 18:1-4 with your kids and explain that we never outgrow our need for God!
