A reminder of the truth.

Matthew 11:4-6
Jesus told them, “Go back to John and tell him what you have heard and seen— the blind see, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor.” And He added, “God blesses those who do not fall away because of me.”

Jesus responds to John’s doubts with Scripture. He quotes the prophet Isaiah’s predictions of what the Messiah would do when He came—open the eyes of the blind, heal the lame, preach good news to the poor. Jesus fulfilled all of these scriptures. He gave no promises to John, only evidence that reflected the predicted ministry of the Messiah.

John took his doubts to Jesus and Jesus answered him with Scripture and with evidence from His life. In the midst of doubts and struggles, it can be easy to get distracted by our circumstances and to start believing in lies. Stop listening to the voices around you or to other sources of affirmation and fulfillment. What you need most is a word from God. Take some time to pray and talk to God about your purpose.
