Read Galatians 2:20
“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

1. What happens inside of us the moment we place our faith in Jesus Christ?
2. How does Paul say we should then move forward, living in our earthly bodies?
3. Why can we not live out this process on our own?
Respond
Once we are declared “justified,” Christ comes to live in us through the Holy Spirit. It is then that God begins to transform us through the process of sanctification. Sanctification isn’t easy and it’s a lifelong process. Thank God now for loving you and justifying you through the work of Christ on the cross. Then ask Him for the ability to die to self daily through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives in you. It’s not a matter of willpower. It’s a matter of opening yourself to His power in you.

For Families with Kids at Home
Pray for your kids’ and their salvation today. If they have already received Jesus as their Savior, pray for their growth over the next coming years and that God would reveal to you the best ways to parent them specifically. If they haven’t yet received Jesus as their Savior, pray that God would continue to work on their hearts and in their lives to draw them to Himself.
