What is true?

Series: The Way Back | Week 3: From Chaos

Matthew 10:28-31

“Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell. What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.”

Focusing on the unknown of a situation will only bring more chaos. Focusing on the truth will bring us back to peace. These words from Jesus show us what’s true—we are valued, God knows us down to the number of hairs on our head and nothing, not even a sparrow falling to the ground, happens outside of His knowledge. Mary grew up hearing the Scriptures taught and she hid them in her heart. Truth is what kept Mary focused through the chaos of her life.

Take a few minutes to make a list of what’s true, searching your Bible for a few of the truths God has to placed there to help you through the unknown and unexpected (check out this document if you need some help with this). Revisit the list when you need to combat the lies so prevalent in moments of confusion and chaos.
