The Lord was with Joseph.

Series: Resilient | Week 1: Didn't See it Coming

Genesis 39:1-2
“When Joseph was taken to Egypt by the Ishmaelite traders, he was purchased by Potiphar, an Egyptian officer. Potiphar was captain of the guard for Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. The Lord was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did as he served in the home of his Egyptian master.”

As we take a look at Joseph’s life over the next few weeks, watch this theme unfold – the Lord was with Joseph. Through slavery, betrayal, jail time and abandonment, God never left him. Joseph’s character, strength, and spiritual maturity came about, in part, through the crises he endured. Joseph never wallowed in self-pity. Instead, he allowed his trouble to train him.

Respond in Prayer
God was with Joseph through all of the trials and troubles he endured and He’s with you, too. Have you chosen to trust God with your life? Is He your Lord or are you still trying to hold the reins? God has a plan and purpose for your life and it’s a good plan, one to give you hope. If you need to talk to someone about what it means to make Jesus Lord of your life, to turn the reins over to Him, you can do that here

For Families with Kids at Home
As a parent, you lead the way for your kids’ spiritual journey more than anyone else. Don’t let that intimidate you, though—what your kids need to see more than anything else is an authentic and real faith. Your kids don’t need perfect parents; they need surrendered ones.
