Serving Leads to Spiritual Growth

Series: We Are Traders Point | Week 3: We Help People Make a Difference

Read Ephesians 4:15-16

15 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. 16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. (NLT)

Discover
1. Who are we called to grow more like?
2. What role does Christ play in the church?
3. How do the parts of the church work separately, and how do they work together?

Respond
In today’s verses, we see the word ‘grow’ mentioned three times in three different ways. First, we’re called to grow like Christ. Second, we’re told that serving in our own special calling allows other individuals to grow. Third, we’re called to grow collectively in community. Each one of these indicates a life that’s lived on mission.

Our personal and spiritual growth is tied to our willingness to serve others. We do this with our time, treasure, and talents. At Traders Point, our heart is for you to experience this growth, not just for the benefit of the church but for the sake of your own journey of becoming more and more like Christ.

As the holidays approach, how can you experience this growth for yourself? See below for an upcoming opportunity:

What You Can Do
Join us in collecting items for our outreach partner, Shepherd Community Center, to help provide vulnerable children with Christmas gifts. Shepherd engages with kids and families living in generational poverty on the Near Eastside of Indianapolis, meeting them where they are and encouraging them to lives of greater wholeness. Our church has committed to provide specific items for Shepherd’s Christmas store, and collection begins this Sunday. To learn more and choose the items you plan to bring, visit tpcc.org/Christmas-impact.

How You Can Pray
Pray that as you consider this opportunity, God would grow you personally and spiritually, and pray for us as a church to grow more like Christ through this impact project. Also lift up Shepherd Community Center and the work they’re doing in Indianapolis. Pray for ongoing relationships to continue to grow as Shepherd interacts with the families they serve.
