Consider the lies you may be hearing that are causing you to be slow in entering His presence. David’s instruction in verse 6 is clear: don’t delay! He speaks from experience, and we have the benefit of learning from his experience. David was drowning in guilt, but as soon as he confessed, he experienced God as his hiding place and his protection from trouble. He was surrounded with songs of victory. If you are drowning in the guilt of your sin, run to God. He is waiting with open and loving arms. For Families with Kids at Home:God’s heart is to be our safe place – somewhere we can turn to no matter what. That includes when we sin and we might be afraid to turn to Him! But even then, God wants us to draw near to Him and run to Him. Pray with your kids today that they would draw near to God in everything, even when they make mistakes.
