Series: For All the People | Week 3: The Guilty

Day Three Psalm 32:6-7

6 Therefore, let all the godly pray to you while there is still time,
that they may not drown in the floodwaters of judgment.
7 For you are my hiding place;
you protect me from trouble.
You surround me with songs of victory. Interlude

– Psalm 32:6-7 (NLT)

Discover
1. What instruction in verse 6 does David move to?
2. What do you think he means by, “while there is still time”? What is the result of not confessing?
3. How has David experienced renewed fellowship with God (verse 7)?

Respond
What kinds of things keep you from approaching God with your sin? Consider the lies you may be hearing that are causing you to be slow in entering His presence. David’s instruction in verse 6 is clear: don’t delay! He speaks from experience, and we have the benefit of learning from his experience. David was drowning in guilt, but as soon as he confessed, he experienced God as his hiding place and his protection from trouble. He was surrounded with songs of victory. If you are drowning in the guilt of your sin, run to God. He is waiting with open and loving arms.

For Families with Kids at Home:
God’s heart is to be our safe place – somewhere we can turn to no matter what. That includes when we sin and we might be afraid to turn to Him! But even then, God wants us to draw near to Him and run to Him. Pray with your kids today that they would draw near to God in everything, even when they make mistakes.
