Jesus Is Our Example.

Series: Achilles | Week 1: Where Can You Be Taken Down?

Day Five Philippians 2:5-8

5 “You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. 6 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. 7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, 8 he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal's death on a cross.” – Philippians 2:5-8 (NLT)

Respond
Displaying the humility and obedience to God that Jesus shows us in Scripture can be hard sometimes. It can be very easy for us to be discontent with our circumstances, overly critical of people, or to become self-absorbed. In this passage, Paul is calling us to take a faithful step away from our pride and invite Christ in to humble us and help us be more faithful in our walk with Him. Take some time today to pray for God to show you how your pride is prohibiting you from being your best self. Allow the Spirit to humble you as He shows you these areas of growth. Ask God to show you the next faithful step you can take to look more like Jesus and humbly serve those around you.
