Hunger like Jesus.

Series: We Are TPCC | Week 2: Hungry

Mark 2:1
“When Jesus returned to Capernaum several days later, the news spread quickly that He was back home.”

Jesus has just returned home to Capernaum from another small village where He healed a leper (someone with a skin disease). Before you move on, it’s important to think about the significance of that healing. This is the first recorded instance of a leper being healed in hundreds of years. Jesus not only fulfilled prophecy regarding the Messiah when He healed the leper, He also showed His hunger to cross conventional boundaries to bring good news. Lepers were outcasts but Jesus came to seek and save those far from Him, regardless of their circumstances.

Respond

1. Are you hungry for lost people to know Jesus? Take some time right now to ask God for His eyes and His heart for lost people. Ask Him to renew your hunger for them to the point that you aren’t satisfied until you’ve seen His lost kids reunited with Him.

2. What are some boundaries you need to cross in your everyday life to connect with those far from Jesus? Come up with a plan today to start a conversation with someone you see on a regular basis but have never taken the time to get to know.
