Devoted to Joy

Series: We Are Traders Point | Week 2: We Help People Find Life-Giving Relationships

Read Acts 2:46-47

46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity, 47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.

Respond
The last two days, we’ve seen key markers of the early church and their devotion to life-giving relationships. Today we see a continuation of the things they did in community. In the midst of their worship and sharing together, they experienced great joy, praising God and enjoying each other’s company. This indicates that the relationships they shared were life-giving, not life-taking. Through the expression of joy and praise, they received life and saw their community grow daily.

In your context of community and relationship, are you a person who gives life to others or drains life from them? As seen in the New Testament Church, the key is your devotion to praise and joy.

Here are next steps as you process what God might be saying to you:

How You Can Pray
Spend some time praising God for who He is. How has He revealed Himself as faithful and loving? Thank Him for those things and anything else that comes to mind. Confess where you’ve struggled to find joy in Him and in the presence of other believers. Ask Him to renew your joy as you gather in community and lift your eyes to Him.

What You Can Do
One incredible way to experience joy in community at Traders Point is Rooted. Our next session is open for registration. If you’ve already gone through Rooted, consider ways you can serve during our next session so others can experience the same joy you did. Learn more and sign up at tpcc.org/rooted.
