Mary asked the angel, “But how can this happen? I am a virgin.”
The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God.
For the word of God will never fail."
When you hear Mary ask this question in these 5 words, can you hear her anxiety? The power of the Christmas story isn’t found just in what happened 2,000 years ago, but how it happened. The first Christmas story shows us that Jesus stepped into our humanity to become our way back to God (incarnational, not transactional). The birth of Jesus was powerful and it’s an invitation for you, today, to walk through and out of anxiety.
