When children are removed from their homes to enter foster care, they generally come with a few items in a trash bag.  Journey bags help provide some necessary items to make them feel comfortable in their new home and lessen the stress on the foster family.  A journey bag typically averages around $100 and includes hygiene products, pajamas, underwear/diapers, socks, a blanket, and a game/activity.  All these items are packed in a duffle bag that the foster child gets to keep.
At this service project, we will begin with an educational component about the Foster Care System.  Then you'll pack bags for different age kids that are connected to our Foster and Adoption Ministry Resource Center.  TPCC will provide the items needed for the bags, but you will be given information on how to donate items for the Resource Center if you'd like to.  You'll also spend time praying for the recipients of the journey bags.

This project will be about 90 minutes, and will take place at the Northwest campus.   This is a family friendly event.
