1. What did the Corinthian believers misunderstand?
2. How would our faith be changed if Jesus wasn’t raised from the dead?
3. What truth does Paul proclaim?
Reflect
The Christians in Corinth didn’t fully believe Jesus’ promise that all His followers would be bodily resurrected as Jesus was. It may seem like a small thing to misunderstand, but Paul addressed this doubt with a harsh reality: If no one can be resurrected, then neither could Jesus. And if Jesus wasn’t raised from the dead, then all who believe in Him would have no hope or eternal life. Yet Jesus’ earliest followers were so sure of His resurrection that many of them were killed for proclaiming this as true.
Our Lord is alive! He has changed the world, and He wants to change all of us. He wants to have a personal encounter with each one of us. He offers the only true hope we could ever find – He forgives our sins and gives us eternal life.
Jesus wants you to know Him. He’s sent the Holy Spirit so that the same power that raised Him from the grave would live in all who believe in Him. When you have an encounter with Him, it will require a response. Have you put your faith in Him?
