Series: Recalibrate | Week 1: The Reason for Romans

Day Five Romans 1:16-17

Pray: Invite God into your time and ask Him to speak to you, then read the passage.

16 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. 17 This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” – Romans 1:16-17 (NLT)

For Families with Kids at Home
Parents, think back to when you were a kid. If you grew up in a Christian home, when were some of the hardest times to stand up for your faith? If you came to Christ as an adult, what were your interactions with Christian kids or teens when you were that age? As you reflect, think about the different challenges your own kids are presented with when it comes to being “unashamed of the Good News about Christ.” Ask your kids what are the hardest aspects of following Jesus in their settings (school, sports, clubs, friend groups, etc.). Ask them how you can be more encouraging in their faith as a parent, and pray together that your kids would continue to be unashamed of their faith in Jesus!
