LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT COHORTS

Ephesians 4:11-13 | Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.

One of the main purposes of the church is to equip you to become healthier disciples and more effective leaders. The primary place we do that at Traders Point is through our Cohorts.

Cohorts are three month leadership development groups full of people who are ready and eager to grow in their leadership and discipleship. Each group is led by a coach and will have the opportunity to not only gain knowledge on important topics, but experience and live-out those topics together.

How long do cohorts last?

Joining a cohort entails seven sessions meeting every other week, so approximately 14 weeks. Meetings are either in-person or virtual for 60-90 minutes each.

Is there a cost to join a cohort?

No, there is no cost associated with joining a cohort.

What’s the difference between a leadership cohort and a small group?

A leadership cohort is specifically focused on developing you as a leader. They are based on six core competencies that Traders Point has determined to be foundational in a leader of self or a leader of others.

Leading Self competencies include Identity vs Purpose vs. Role, Self-Awareness, Self-Management, the Inner Health of a Leader, Time Management, and Problem Solving.

Leading Others competencies include Motivation of a Leader, Situational Leadership, Communication, Conflict Management, Developing Others, and Emotional Intelligence.

Is there curriculum or a direction cohorts are working toward?

We use our development tracks, which can be found in your Traders Point account and under My Courses.

Are there or will there be any co-ed cohorts?

For Leading Self, not at this time. However, if there is enough demand, we will consider providing it. We believe that there will be more comfort in same gender cohorts during Leading Self.

Once you take a Leading Self Cohort, you will be encouraged to take a Leading Others Cohort, which are all mixed gender. This will provide a great opportunity to learn from each other.

What is the end goal of cohorts?

Research shows that knowledge transfer is only 10% of the learning equation. 70% is hands on experience and 20% is coaching through the experience.

The goal of the cohorts is to coach you as you process through applying the lessons provided through our on-demand development tracks.

Are there certain qualifications someone needs to lead a cohort?

The Leadership Development Department at Traders Point have met with and trained each coach on leading each type of cohort.

What topics are covered in each Cohort?

Leading-Self Topics // Inner health, identity in Christ, purpose, time management, self-awareness, and problem solving.

Leading Others Topics // Inner motivation, Jesus' model for leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, biblical conflict management, and disciple-making.
